CABLE CAR AND BOTANICAL GARDENS

The Cable Car is located on Lambton Quay and goes up to Kelburn every 10 minutes. It is a relaxing ride with an incredible view of the City at the top. The botanical gardens are a lovely place to spend the afternoon on a sunny day – just a couple of minutes walk from the top of the cable car. Be sure to look out for the award winning Lady Norwood Rose Garden.

Cable Car: Adult $2, senior citizens and children $1 one way. Runs every 10 minutes.
Gardens: FREE

Open 7 days from 7am weekdays, 8.30am Saturday and 9am Sunday until 10pm 7 days a week.

 

Southwoods Car Museum

The Southward Car Museum houses a collection of over 350 vehicles, as well as three aircraft and various other exhibits including motorcycles, bicycles, fire engine etc. The motor museum is run by a charitable trust, incorporated in 1972. The car museum is located on Otaihanga Road, Otaihanga, just north of Paraparaumu on the Kapiti Coast of New Zealand’s North Island.

TE PAPA

Te Papa is New Zealand’s national museum and a must see if you are visiting Wellington. Known internationally as a leader in museum interaction and innovation it is definitely a unique and memorable experience. It is located on Cable Street on Wellington’s stunning waterfront, a great place to take a stroll after the Museum.

Te Papa always has travelling exhibitions so best to ask at Reception for their current attractions schedule. FREE ENTRY. Open every day of the year 9am-6pm and until 9pm on Thursdays. Costs may incur for certain exhibitions.
